You feel your almost there with your design, yet its missing a little something.. that something that sets your home apart from the rest and further defines your individual style. An absolute must is balancing the right pieces of art, along with the right placement of said pieces. It's extremely important to look at each room in your home to determine where you have room, or don't have room, to add artwork.

Kitchen artwork DOES NOT have to be food related or wine related! Don't get me wrong, any piece of art featuring food or drink can be a tasteful addition to the kitchen. What I am trying to do is have you think beyond an oil painting with a bowl of fruit. Abstract art that fits with your colour palette is one alternative to traditional paintings.

Your bedroom is all about YOU.. and whomever you share it with! So for bedroom art, think personal. This is a perfect space to commission a local artist to do a big piece, or choose to go with a smaller collection for a personalized gallery wall.
As no one else frequently visits your bedroom (other than the kid, maybe snooping family members, or friends on a tour of your home) this is a space you really have some freedom! Whatever artwork you choose however, should maintain your overall mood of your bedroom, calm and relaxing, timeless and chic, or elegant and sophisticated!

This area has become less formal over time, but still needs something upscale. You can again choose to go with one oversized statement piece as a focal point, or a smaller collection for a gallery wall. If your style is a little more playful, a gallery wall with a combination of mixed media art would be an answer! Another option could be a mix of prints and photographs (framed similar to your prints) is a very current look.
Weavings and other textiles are also huge right now. They bring an unexpected appeal to any space, especially common areas such as living rooms.
The living room is in my opinion a perfect place for sculptures. Just keep your overall colour story in mind with any piece you choose to add.

If your layout is open concept, then you want to stay within the scheme of your living room. If you chose to go with a gallery wall in your living room, you could then introduce an oversized statement piece for your dining area or vise versa.
If your dining room is formal (a room on its own) Here is your chance to go formal and fancy! This is where you can put the art that you want to be seen, and never ever touched! This is the space that the kids know not to even think about messing with your tablescapes! LOL
The dining room should have that feeling of extravagance. This is a space you can go for it! Do an entire wall piece for example! Even if this room is rarely used, it should still have that "OMG How Gorgeous" feel everytime you walk by!
